'Idiots' difficult feat to match for 'My Name..': Karan Johar
Filmmaker Karan Johar , Shahrukh Khan starrer 'My Name is Khan' , 3'Idiots'

Mumbai: Filmmaker Karan Johar whose much awaited Shahrukh Khan starrer 'My Name is Khan' hits theatres next month, confesses that the success achieved by Aamir Khan's '3 Idiots' will be a difficult feat to match. The film directed by Rajkumar Hirani has become the highest grosser in the history of Indian cinema, beating the last number one 'Ghajini' which again starred Aamir. "'3Idiots' has become a barometer of box office success. The (collection) figures are amazing. I don't think any film will be able to match or even cross them," Johar told PTI adding that comparisons between the two films was inevitable. "Comparisons with '3Idiots' is inevitable. But while '3Idiots' is quintessential mainstream entertainment, 'My name...' is completely different in genre and would attract a different kind of audience," explained Johar. Responding to frequent criticism that his movies are based abroad so as to cater to the NRI audiences, Johar said that the Indian diaspora are not aliens. "NRIs are not aliens. They are more Indian and rooted than us. There is no peculiar reason why my films are based in foreign countries. It is just the structure of the story," the 37-year-old director-producer said.
