Ahmedabad:Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai
Lama would give a religious discourse with Jain scholars at
Palitana in Bhavnagar district on January 3.
The Dalai Lama is scheduled to visit a camp organised by
Ratna Nidhi Charitable Trust (RNCT), where over 25,000
physically challenged would be given aids and appliances free
of cost, Mahendra Mehta, one of the trustees of RNCT, told
media persons here.
The camp called 'Mobility Camp' being held in Palitana
began on December 23 and would continue till January 9, 2010.
"He (Dalai Lama) was very curious to see how the camp
is being managed for such large population so he himself is
coming to. He will also give a discourse with Jain scholars
from across India," he added.
At the camp, 15,000 people with physical disability would
be provided with calipers, Jaipur foot (artificial limb),
tricycles, wheelchairs and crutches, he said. |
